**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Legislative Director for Climate and Energy to join our Policy and Legislation team in Washington, . This position is responsible for developing and implementing legislative and administrative strategies to advance **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s climate and energy priorities. The Legislative Director will also oversee a team of staff working on these issues and will serve as **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s spokesperson on climate and energy issues. This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of two days a week in the . office.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement legislative and administrative advocacy strategies to advance **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s climate and energy priorities
- Lobby Congress and the Administration on climate and energy issues
- Educate the Administration and Congress on key legal challenges and rulings
- Serve as spokesperson for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. on climate and energy issues
- Work with other **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. staff to recommend positions on Presidential nominees
- Track legislation and policy initiatives related to climate and energy issues
- Develop lobby and education materials, including fact sheets, letters, and action alerts
- Work with communications staff to develop media strategies and conduct media outreach on climate and energy issues
- Conduct policy, legislative, and legal analysis
- Plan and implement initiatives to educate the public and foster broader advocacy for climate and energy issues
- Coordinate events, such as fly-ins and lobby days, and support partners' outreach efforts

Qualifications:
- Eight years combined federal legislative and administrative advocacy experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or JD degree
- Proven leadership skills
- Significant familiarity and experience with the administrative rulemaking process
- Substantial knowledge and experience with the federal legislative process
- Experience with . environmental laws
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful legislative and administrative strategies
- Ability to maintain leadership within the . environmental community on climate and energy issues
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to develop relationships with key decision-makers
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to work in diverse coalitions and with allies
- Experience with traditional and social media
- Prior management experience is a plus

- Ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team
- Ability to give and receive regular formal and informal feedback
- Strong team mentorship and communication skills
- Commitment to developing team skills and talents

We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits, including eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Salary is dependent on experience and location, with a range of $164,000 - $182,200 in Washington, .
