Job Title: Managing Attorney (Assistant Attorney General V)

Job Responsibilities:
The Managing Attorney performs highly complex and supervisory legal work, providing direction and guidance to management and legal staff of a Child Support Field Office. Key responsibilities include:
- Representing the State of Texas at legal proceedings.
- Planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring office performance and taking corrective actions to achieve assigned goals and objectives.
- Supervising all office personnel, including hiring, evaluating, counseling, and training under the direction of the Regional Director.
- Supervising office legal processes under the direction of the Senior Regional Attorney.
- Supervising and monitoring the office budget.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and standards while providing excellent customer service.
- Responding to inquiries and resolving issues from agency management, government officials, attorneys, parents, advocacy and community groups, and other customers.
- Serving as primary office legal counsel.
- Developing and delivering training.
- Performing related work as assigned.
- Maintaining relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Attending work regularly in compliance with the agreed-upon work schedule.
- Ensuring security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.
- Complying with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.

Education and Experience Information:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (.) degree.
- Experience: Four years of full-time experience working in legal fields, with at least two years in Family Law.
- Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas and must be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code.
- Skill in legal writing, mediation, and negotiation.
- Skill in serving as a trial lawyer, preparing sound opinions, conducting investigations, and performing legal research.
- Skill in using a personal computer for word-processing and data entry/retrieval.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
- Skill in effective oral and written communication.
- Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision-making.
- Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG workspace.
- Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA.
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Texas Child Support Program.
- Experience in handling a high-volume legal practice.
- Management experience.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish.

Salary Information:
- Salary (Pay Basis): $9, monthly.
