A full-service commercial law firm with an entrepreneurial culture is currently seeking a Trademark Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Minneapolis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with 2–5 years of experience in trademark and brand management to support a broad and diverse client base—from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Duties:
Prepare, file, and prosecute trademark and copyright applications and maintenance filings
Draft and negotiate cease and desist letters, coexistence agreements, and settlements
Manage large trademark portfolios and advise clients on prosecution and enforcement strategies
Handle contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)
Coordinate with foreign counsel on international trademark matters
Perform legal research and draft legal opinions and memoranda
Participate in trademark litigation and other IP-related disputes
Stay current with changes in intellectual property law and CLE requirements
Maintain compliance with ethical rules and professional responsibility standards
Requirements:
2–5 years of trademark-focused legal experience
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with minimal supervision
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
Familiarity with . and international trademark laws and procedures
Experience advising clients directly and managing portfolios
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in at least one . jurisdiction (preference for Minnesota or eligibility for admission)
Skills:
Deep knowledge of trademark and copyright law
Experience with TTAB proceedings, international filings, and portfolio management
Strong legal writing, communication, and client service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with IP-specific software like iManage and Foundation IP preferred
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
