We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Counsel to join our team at ClaimDOC. In this role, you will provide legal services and advice to various departments within the company, as well as assist with contract development and negotiation. This is a full-time, exempt position with competitive pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal services as a practicing counsel, including interpreting laws and regulations related to collection practices, insurance regulations, and ERISA
- Advise the company on debt collection protection, review medical documentation, and prepare ERISA appeal documentation
- Research and monitor laws and regulations that affect the company
- Assist with communication and documentation production for outside counsel
- Responsible for contract development and negotiation, risk management, and advising marketing and sales

Qualifications:

- . from an ABA-accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the Iowa State Bar Association (other state bar memberships acceptable)
- 5-10 years of experience in ERISA and/or health benefits, litigation, debt collection or consumer protection, or transactional law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organization skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
