Job Title: Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group at the company, you will be an integral part of tax engagement teams. The role involves providing and assisting with a variety of tax services that are relevant for both public and private companies. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed technical reviews of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns and reviewing all related work papers.
- Coordinating with clients' tax and finance departments on tax planning and compliance data gathering.
- Conducting detailed reviews of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to understand its impact on compliance and consulting.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the Tax Senior role include:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in the preparation and review of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740.
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Senior role takes into account a variety of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, among other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range is $66,570 to $151,580. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Additional Information:
The company offers a hybrid work model that requires . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week and requires the ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
