Job Summary:
The EPL & D&O Liability Associate Claim Counsel will be responsible for managing and resolving a variety of claims related to management and professional liability, cyber, crime insurance, and surety bonds. The role will also involve providing legal advice to underwriting colleagues and participating in strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and customers.

Experience:
- 1-5 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience
- Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree
- Properly licensed, registered or authorized and in good standing to practice law in the jurisdiction of work
Salary:
- Annual base salary range of $87, - $144,
- Actual salary determined by factors such as role scope, complexity, location, and candidate qualifications
- Eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of comprehensive compensation and benefits program
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with supervision from claims management
- Prepare and present reports for management on loss development, financial exposure, reserve adjustments, coverage issues, and claim strategies
- Retain, monitor, and manage outside counsel for litigation
- Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures
- Travel to attend mediations, settlement conferences, claim conferences, and depositions
- Identify and coordinate recovery opportunities with Recovery Management Unit
- Refine policy interpretation and coverage analysis skills
- Negotiate settlements and review release and settlement agreements
- Support underwriting marketing efforts and author customer-focused materials
- Monitor marketplace conditions and provide research and reference materials for colleagues
- Obtain and maintain required adjusters' licenses
