Assistant District Attorney - Special Prosecutions Division
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume caseload of felony cases involving special victims’ cases such as domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and human trafficking.
- Appear regularly in Superior Court both in person and virtually to handle various court proceedings.
- Present cases to the Grand Jury and prosecute trials in Superior Court, including responsibilities such as discovery, certifying case readiness, witness preparation, motions practice, and all courtroom litigation.
- Attend and/or conduct forensic interviews of children at the Child Advocacy Center.
- Staff court calendars.
- Investigate child fatalities and participate in conferences with the County Child Fatality Review Team.
- Attend meetings of various community-oriented multidisciplinary teams and speak at community-related educational forums.
- Participate in periodic on-call/after-hours duty.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should be experienced criminal prosecutors with knowledge and certification in best practices for forensically interviewing children and utilizing trauma-informed interview skills for special victims’ cases. Experience in working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, social services, medical providers, and victim advocacy and mental health agencies is important. Regular supervision and guidance are provided by experienced senior attorneys, along with continuing legal education.
Salary Information:
- Assistant District Attorney (ADA): $101, - $143,
- Senior Assistant District Attorney (Sr. ADA): $145, - $152,
