VP, Associate General Counsel- Litigation and Arbitration at **Members Only**

Job Overview:

- The VP, Associate General Counsel- Litigation and Arbitration will be responsible for providing a broad range of in-house legal services and advice, with a primary focus on defending the firm and its Financial Professionals in FINRA arbitrations and litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

- Defend litigation and arbitration matters brought against the firm and its Financial Professionals.
- Evaluate legal and regulatory risk and exposure, draft pleadings, argue motions, manage discovery, and handle settlement negotiations or trial/arbitration hearings.
- Work and communicate effectively with in-house legal team, outside counsel, and insurers.
- Interpret and apply legal and regulatory guidance to defense of cases.
- Report and log case-related data into company's systems.
- Adapt quickly to dynamic environments and manage multiple caseload assignments and deadlines.
- Advise internal business partners on risk areas and provide legal guidance on firm policies and procedures.
- Monitor insurance status of claims and participate in meetings and negotiations.
- Handle internal and external client and outside counsel contacts professionally and confidentially.

Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed member in good standing of state bar in which working for LPL.
- 7-8 years of arbitration/litigation experience in financial services industry.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong strategic, tactical, organizational, and dispute resolution negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other litigation-related data systems.
- Willingness to travel and work on legal proceedings as needed.

Preferences:

- Strong knowledge of FINRA Dispute Resolution Code of Arbitration Procedure.
- Familiarity with federal and state securities laws and their impact on arbitrations and litigation.
- Experience with investment products and services.

Pay Range:

- $163,725-$272,875/year
