Job Title:
Lead Counsel - Data Privacy, HIPAA, and State Health Privacy Laws

Job Responsibilities:
- Legal Compliance and Advisory:
- Provide expert advice on matters related to data privacy, HIPAA, and state health privacy laws.
- Work with compliance to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update company policies accordingly.

- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess risks related to data privacy and health information security.
- Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

- Incident Response:
- Collaborate on the response to data breaches and other incidents involving health information.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to investigate and resolve incidents promptly.

- Policy Development:
- Draft and review company policies related to data privacy and health information security.
- Ensure that all policies are aligned with current laws and best practices.

- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance and address any concerns.

Education and Experience Information:
- Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with a state bar association.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on data privacy, HIPAA, and state health privacy laws.
- Proven track record of managing and advising on complex legal and regulatory issues.

- Skills:
- Strong understanding of federal and state health privacy laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a healthcare organization or with healthcare clients.
- Familiarity with technology and cybersecurity issues related to health information.

Salary Information:
- Washington, District of Columbia:
- The annual salary range for this position is $208,,

- Bentonville, Arkansas:
- The annual salary range for this position is $160,,
