Job Title: Associate General Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate General Counsel is tasked with providing comprehensive legal advice and assistance across the organization to all levels of associates, including directors, administrators, and senior executives. The role involves managing a diverse range of legal matters such as:
- General healthcare issues
- Contract negotiations
- Commercial transactions
- IT and intellectual property matters
- Clinical service arrangements
- Physician practice acquisitions
- HIPAA and privacy issues
- Corporate governance and structuring
- Regulatory compliance
- Patient care issues
The Associate General Counsel is expected to create efficiencies, realize financial savings, and add value for clinicians and associates within the organization.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the state of New York. A minimum of 10 years of significant legal work experience is required, primarily focusing on transactional matters with an emphasis on contract negotiation. This experience may be gained either as in-house counsel or as external legal counsel. Experience in the healthcare industry is considered advantageous.
Essential skills include excellent written and verbal communication, strong client service, problem-solving, project management, and negotiation capabilities.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Associate General Counsel position is between $180, and $240,. The displayed rate is the hiring rate but may be subject to change based on factors such as shift differential, experience, education, or other relevant factors.
Additional Information:
The position is a regular full-time role within the department of legal affairs. The scheduled working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. The Associate General Counsel will be employed at the Fordham campus.
