Job Summary:
The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for providing legal advice, counsel, and representation for the State of Arizona in complex cases. This includes appearing in both state and federal court, preparing legal documents, conducting research and investigations, and communicating with clients and other parties involved in the case. The AGO is seeking attorneys for various legal divisions, with positions available statewide.

Job Duties:
• Provide legal representation and advice in complex cases in both state and federal court
• Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and memoranda
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and legal research
• Respond to inquiries from law enforcement and the general public
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• Strong knowledge of applicable statutes, case law, and court rules
• Familiarity with legal techniques and the basic concepts of American Jurisprudence
• Understanding of the practical factors that impact litigation decisions and goals
• Knowledge of financial considerations for the state
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to efficiently prepare legal documents and correspondence
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with various agencies and personnel
• Skilled in managing a high volume of complex cases
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and ethical standards in legal practice

• Dedication and interest in public service

Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Valid Arizona Driver's License and consent for periodic driving record checks
• Active Arizona State Bar license (include date(s) of admission on resume)
• Writing sample demonstrating legal analysis and advocacy skills
• Fingerprinting and criminal background check
