Job Title:
Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
- Appear in court on behalf of clients and argue motions during legal proceedings
- Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
- Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
- Take responsibility for the administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients, and completing tasks
- Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
- Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff concerning client billing, client meetings and invoicing, as well as finalizing client projects
- Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings
- Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence

Education and Experience Information:
- Must be able to handle a heavy caseload with little supervision
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in a law firm environment
- Must be an active Bar member, in good standing with no pending or prior disciplinary history
- Required Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus
- Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required
- Ability to use Microsoft Office is required

- Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion

- Able to work independently while handling multiple files
