Salary Information:
- The applicable base salary range for this role is $107,900 to $215,800.
- The base pay offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.
- In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Experience Information:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department is required.
- Candidates must be admitted to the bar in New York or in the location where the position will be based.

Counsel, North America - Job Description:
- The Counsel, North America will report to the Chief Counsel for North America and support the corporate legal needs of Guy Carpenter businesses.
- This position is available in 16 locations across the United States.
- The Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to various levels of Company management on a broad range of reinsurance brokerage and risk advisory businesses in the US and Canada.
- Responsibilities include handling contract drafting, review, and negotiation, supporting the business in developing strategic alliances and providing advice and counsel on innovation initiatives.
- The Counsel will also collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at various levels around the world and be an integral part of streamlining processes and identifying efficiencies.

What you'll need to have:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department, including providing client advice and transactional support and working with client service agreements and technology contracts
- Admitted to the bar in New York or in the location where the position will be based
- Ability to be a creative problem solver and to support a diverse range of commercial initiatives
- Excellent judgment, excellent communication and negotiating skills, financial acumen, project management skills, and a willingness and ability to work as a part of a team
- Ability to effectively communicate with business colleagues and exercise sound legal and commercial judgment in providing advice and determining when to escalate issues
- Keen attention to detail, excellent analytical ability, and discretion with confidential information
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, prioritize assignments, and work efficiently
