Job Overview:
A Coral Springs-based law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload involving creditors' rights in bankruptcy proceedings across the state of Florida. The role focuses on representing secured creditors in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 filings, including plan reviews, motion practice, and client advisement. The attorney will interface directly with courts, trustees, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient case progression and regulatory compliance.
Duties:
Oversee and advance a broad portfolio of bankruptcy matters statewide
Initiate legal proceedings through the drafting and review of pleadings and related documentation
Communicate directly with trustees, judges, opposing counsel, and clients
Perform a comprehensive analysis of documents and financial records before initiating cases
Draft and review legal filings, including Payment Change Notices, Proofs of Claim, Plan Objections, and Motions for Relief
Attend virtual and in-person court hearings as required
Maintain accurate and current case updates in internal and client-facing systems
Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and procedural requirements at the state and federal levels
Handle escalated legal matters with urgency and discretion
Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in Florida, in good standing
Minimum of 3 years’ experience handling bankruptcy cases, with direct exposure to Chapters 7, 11, and 13
Familiarity with mortgage, real estate, and commercial litigation preferred
Understanding of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and other relevant debt collection and real property regulations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective time management in a fast-paced legal setting
Capacity to work independently as well as within cross-functional legal teams
Willingness and ability to travel for hearings or client meetings
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited institution
Certifications:
Member in good standing with the Florida State Bar
Skills:
Excellent legal research and writing abilities
Proficiency in preparing legal filings and courtroom presentation
Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving
High level of professionalism and discretion
