Job Title: Employee Relations Manager, Employee Experience and Relations
Job Responsibilities:
The Employee Relations Manager within the Employee Experience and Relations department at the company is tasked with supporting Field Operations across fulfillment and logistics business lines in North America. The main goal of the team is to ensure that employees are treated fairly and respectfully, consistent with the business's core values and objectives. Responsibilities are divided into proactive and reactive categories. The Manager is expected to:
- Collaborate with and influence field operations managers, human resources, and contractors.
- Analyze multiple levels of employee and partner feedback to identify risks and gaps.
- Create, audit, and sustain positive workplace relations programs.
- Design and conduct training to drive best practices in positive workplace relations.
- React to crisis-oriented situations under severe time constraints, addressing employee relations issues at various levels, from a single station to network-wide.
- Balance time effectively between projects and crisis-response.
Key job responsibilities include:
- Detecting and mitigating risks by identifying trends, gaps, and challenges, and executing solution-focused strategies.
- Managing crisis situations related to partner issues under time constraints while exercising excellent judgment.
- Independently managing large-scale, network-wide projects aimed at improving frontline partner experience.
- Analyzing and interpreting data using strong analytical skills to develop persuasive narratives and recommendations.
- Communicating effectively through high-quality written communications and engaging training sessions.
- Building constructive relationships with critical stakeholders to share information and influence change.
- Problem-solving independently with minimal supervision in ambiguous situations and driving resolutions.
- Launching and managing sustainable mechanisms for entire networks.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law, with an emphasis on labor and employee relations. The candidate should have a successful track record of creating, improving, and executing programs at scale. The role necessitates excellent skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering on commitments. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with extensive public speaking, training, and communication skills. The candidate should be skilled in using MS Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint and be curious about new learning technologies.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, JD, or specialized training in labor/employee relations. Leadership experience in distribution, logistics, and/or transportation industries is highly desired, as is experience in building and launching programs that positively impact engagement. Experience in analyzing and using metrics to identify vulnerabilities and drive improvements in the employee experience is also preferred. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to manage through ambiguity and change, and possess a solid sense of accountability, high-quality judgment, and sound decision-making. Fluency in multiple languages and the ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues when appropriate are additional preferred qualifications.
Salary Information:
The base pay for this position ranges from $114,600 per year in the lowest geographic market to $205,900 per year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The company offers a total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
