Job Title: Legal Assistant - Tax Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced legal and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, peers, and other colleagues as requested, specifically within the Tax Practice Group.
- Manage the business intake process, including running adversary searches, drafting screening memos and engagement letters, and opening new files.
- Prepare, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence using various software applications; ensure documents are proofread for content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Transcribe digital audio files into written transcripts as needed.
- Prepare documents and applicable fees for electronic filing; e-file documents with federal and state courts and other agencies.
- Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, mail, hand deliveries, and emails.
- Support client activities and provide direct client assistance and support.
- Maintain and manage attorney/paralegal calendars, including docketing court deadlines, conferences, teleconferences, depositions, and other meetings.
- Assist with in-office tasks, projects, overflow work, administrative work, and other duties to support attorneys, paralegals, and peers.
- Navigate workflow technology proficiently and collaborate with the central team for efficiency and quality.
- Manage workflow and priorities effectively.
- Proactively support the team, demonstrating a positive and collaborative approach.
- Serve as a resource to teammates and manage logistics for internal and external meetings.
- Liaise with courts as necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
- High school education with 4+ years of legal assistant experience or two years of legal assistant training plus at least 2 years of experience.
- Required litigation and e-filing experience; tax and estate planning knowledge is highly preferred.
- Advanced legal assistant skills, including accurate typing and working knowledge of personal computers.
- Strong skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and advanced knowledge of legal terminology.
- Proficient with software such as iManage, iCompli, Intapp, Chrome River, Expert Time, and CompuLaw.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules.
- Advanced knowledge in one or more specialty areas preferred (., litigation, corporate, tax, intellectual property).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent organizational skills for handling the work of several attorneys/paralegals.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under general supervision.
Salary Information:
- Colorado Salary Range: to per hour.
- A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance.

Additional Information:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods; manipulate weights of at least ten pounds; repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement for computer work; and clear speech.
- The work environment is a professional office atmosphere with exposure to computer screens, primarily involving sedentary work.
- After the first 90 days, a hybrid schedule may be available, generally requiring in-office presence three days per week and remote work two days per week, subject to change based on business needs.
