Our Organization and Mission:
- Ensure efficient licensing and fair regulation in Florida
- Oversee various professions and industries, including food service, real estate, and condominium governance
- Stakeholders include professionals and their customers
The Work You Will Do:
- Enforce chapter 499 of Florida Statutes to prevent fraud, adulteration, and false advertising in the medical drugs, devices, and cosmetics industry
- Prosecute administrative cases targeting licensed and unlicensed entities
- Safeguard public health and promote public welfare through enforcement actions
- Administer Florida law in accordance with federal regulations
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Analyze violations, recommend appropriate action, and draft legal documents
- Present recommendations, prosecute administrative complaints, and conduct other civil and administrative litigation on behalf of the Department
- Provide legal advice to management and other divisions
- Respond to public records requests and perform other duties as directed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Drafting legal documents and managing complex cases
- Prioritizing work and working independently or in a team
- Communicating effectively and conducting legal research
- Making oral presentations and planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments
- Utilizing problem-solving techniques and recognizing and acting on emerging issues
- Travel may be required
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Current member of The Florida Bar or passing the Florida Bar exam within one year
