Job Title: Manager, Rights Management
Department: Business and Legal Affairs
Summary of Position
Company is seeking a candidate to assist in the fast-paced Rights Management area of our Business and Legal Affairs Department. The primary focus of this position is to review, dissect, and assimilate Motion Picture and/or Television Acquisition Agreements for key terms relating to Distribution Rights and entry into our Rights Management Database. This position requires an individual who possesses a unique blend of legal acumen and data analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and Abstract Rights-In Output Deals
- Review and enter all non-TV product Acquisition Agreements
- Enter in all Feature Productions
- Liaise with the Company’s Motion Picture Group on holdback requirements
- Review documents for cursory determination of the status of derivatives
- Conduct copyright look up and review
- Redact Agreements as needed
- Participate in ad hoc special projects as needed
Education and Experience Information
- Must be comfortable reading and dissecting legal contracts
- Must be able to quickly, proficiently, and accurately enter data into databases/systems
- Proficiency in Excel is required
- Must be a fast and willing learner who can handle a volume of data while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills are essential
Nice to Haves
- Experience in Rights Management or Entertainment Distribution
- Law Degree or Paralegal Certificate/Experience
- Experience with Air Table or other database applications
Salary Information
Compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000.
