Associate Counsel, California (Remote) - Full Time
Salary Range: $112, - $186, per year

Job Description:
GEICO is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to join their team and defend lawsuits filed in California courts. As part of the GEICO Staff Counsel, the position will be located in Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and San Francisco. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in California.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value to the Claims Department
- Handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations, and represent the company at trials or dispositive hearings

Qualifications:

- 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the California Bar
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California and meet all licensing requirements, including mandatory CLE
- Willingness to travel as needed for trials, hearings, and meetings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in civil litigation
- Knowledge of insurance defense-related litigation
