Job Title: Volunteer - Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
Participants in the paralegal volunteer program at the organization will engage in various activities designed to provide quality paralegal work experience. The responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues.
- Gaining experience in preparing legal documents.
- Accessing networking opportunities within the legal field.
- Receiving an overview of court processes and procedures.
These activities aim to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the judicial system for participants.
Education and Experience Information:
The paralegal volunteer program is open to:
- Students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout Los Angeles County.
- Individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program from paralegal schools, colleges, or universities.
Volunteers are expected to donate their services without pay from the Court and without compensation or credit from a third party, although they may receive aid or benefits as part of a government program.
Salary Information:
This is a volunteer position, and therefore, there is no salary or monetary compensation involved. Participants will not receive pay from the organization or any third-party entity.
Additional Information:
Volunteers will be placed on an eligibility list for up to six months if they qualify for the program.
