Litigation Paralegal Law Firm is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Washington, . The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for assisting attorneys during the litigation process, with an emphasis on financial services litigation. This includes but is not limited to handling pre-claim investigations, drafting legal documents, maintaining indexes and organizing case files. Position Summary: The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for providing legal support to attorneys in the Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of litigation paralegal experience, an ABA paralegal certification or an Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies, and be well-versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements. Position Responsibilities: Handle pre-claim investigations, drafting legal documents, and maintaining indexes and organizing case files Perform administrative duties, such as calendar hearings, court and discovery deadlines Draft routine court documents, such as notices of appearance, motions for extension of time, motions for default and subpoenas Manage hard copy and electronic case documents, including managing email and electronic files and preparing binders of hard copy documents Provide internet research including pulling cases from Lexis and Westlaw, as needed Assist with the general aspects of document productions (redacting, copying, Bates stamping) Cite-check, bluebook and Shepardize briefs and legal memoranda Organize, analyze, and index documents and exhibits Assist with all aspects of deposition preparation Create and maintain trial exhibit and deposition designation databases; assist with preparation of pre and post-trial briefs Convey information to individuals at all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner Organize and manage litigation cases from inception to trial and appeal including document productions, deposition preparation and trial preparation Position Requirements and Desired Skills: Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies, preferred 7 years minimum litigation paralegal experience Detail oriented with strong proofreading skills Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices Ability to apply understanding and knowledge of the litigation process from pretrial to post-trial Strong organizational and problem solving skills Superior interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication across a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff while maintaining high level of work quality and customer service Ability to travel locally and nationwide as needed Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion Ability to work moderate to heavy overtime Pay Type: Non-Exempt Job Function: Staff Benefits: Bradley is an equal opportunity employer.
