The law firm is seeking a Director of Docketing Services to lead their docketing teams for the IP and Litigation practice specialty centers across the firm. The position may be filled remotely or in any of their locations. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits packages. The Director will be responsible for implementing and managing policies, procedures, and teams related to docketing services, and will work closely with firm leadership and Practice Specialty Center leaders to provide thought leadership and development to this function. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a law firm environment, with extensive legal docketing experience in an attorney or senior paralegal role. They should also have demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures, as well as proficiency with docket databases. The Director should have strong communication skills, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, and the ability to work under pressure. They should also have a non-hierarchical approach and the ability to build consensus.

Responsibilities:

- Directly supervise the Docketing Managers and manage the docketing staff and all docket-related services, including calendaring and docketing in the litigation and intellectual property docket systems.
- Provide direction, development, and oversight of docketing services across the firm.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to firm leadership concerning docketing services and procedures.
- Identify and analyze docketing technologies, trends, and best practices and implement them at the firm.
- Build relationships with and serve as a resource and docketing subject matter expert to the firm’s attorneys.
- Collaborate with PSC Leaders and other stakeholders to ensure internal docketing procedures remain compliant.
- Audit docket entries for accuracy.
- Maintain knowledge of e-filing requirements and procedures for various courts.
- Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on rule changes and procedures.
- Draft and oversee departmental budgets and oversee hiring, firing, promotions, and creation/elimination of positions within the docketing teams.
- Work on ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a law firm environment, with extensive legal docketing experience in an attorney or senior paralegal role.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency with docket databases, preferably CompuLaw and Pattsy.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and conflicting circumstances.
- Non-hierarchical approach and ability to build consensus.
- Strong integrity, maturity, and fairness in dealing with people and confidential information.
