Summary:

Farah & Farah, a premier personal injury law firm in Southeast GA and Florida, is seeking a Workers Compensation Legal Assistant to join their team. This full-time position will involve answering calls and emails, setting up patient charts, scheduling appointments, obtaining authorizations, and handling outgoing claims for the Workers Compensation Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

- Answer inbound calls and emails from patients, insurance carriers, and other parties
- Set up new patient charts and schedule appointments
- Obtain authorizations for initial visits, surgeries, and physical therapy
- Communicate with claims adjusters and case managers to verify patient work status and appointments
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Provide end of visit documentation to insurance carriers
- Assist physicians and their teams with any questions or needs regarding workers compensation claim patients

Qualifications:

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent customer service, time management, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with clients, associates, and vendors
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience with Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Previous experience in medical billing or a medical office setting preferred
- Spanish-speaking is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
