Goldberg Segalla, a national civil litigation law firm, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Workers' Compensation Paralegal in either its Princeton or Newark offices. In this role, the paralegal will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s), enhancing their effectiveness in handling workers' compensation cases. The ideal candidate for this position must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure. They should also possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, as well as knowledge of e-filing and legal billing. A strong understanding of legal documents and terminology is also required.

The primary responsibilities of this role will include conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases, and organizing and maintaining documents both physically and in the firm's document management software. The paralegal will also assist with trial preparation, including writing reports, obtaining affidavits, and filing legal documents with the court. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the paralegal will be responsible for scheduling interviews, meetings, and depositions with clients, witnesses, and outside vendors.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or a certificate in paralegal studies, as well as 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal. While experience in workers' compensation is preferred, it is not required.

- Conducting legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles

- Assisting with trial preparation, including writing reports and obtaining evidence
- Filing legal documents with the court or opposing counsel
- Scheduling interviews, meetings, and depositions
- Supporting attorneys during trials by handling exhibits and taking notes

Experience and qualifications for the Workers' Compensation Paralegal role include:

- Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or certificate in paralegal studies
- 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal
- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with e-filing and legal billing
- Strong understanding of legal documents and terminology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
