Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead finance transactions from inception to completion, acting in a first-chair capacity.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on complex financial transactions, including loan structuring and documentation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, loan documents, and other financial contracts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on financial transactions and loan documentation.
  • Represent clients effectively in negotiations and provide strategic legal solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts and growth strategies.

Requirements

  • 6-15 years of significant experience in finance law.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transactions as the primary attorney (first chair experience preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of lender and borrower side work, loan documentation, and due diligence.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents.
  • A portable book of business is preferred.
  • Proven business development capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar.
