Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead finance transactions from inception to completion, acting in a first-chair capacity.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on complex financial transactions, including loan structuring and documentation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, loan documents, and other financial contracts.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on financial transactions and loan documentation.
- Represent clients effectively in negotiations and provide strategic legal solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
- Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts and growth strategies.
Requirements
- 6-15 years of significant experience in finance law.
- Demonstrated ability to lead transactions as the primary attorney (first chair experience preferred).
- Comprehensive understanding of lender and borrower side work, loan documentation, and due diligence.
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents.
- A portable book of business is preferred.
- Proven business development capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.
