Z Family Law is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join their team. This individual must be compassionate, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. They should also possess excellent people skills and customer service abilities, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage their time effectively. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of $40,000 - $65,000 DOE, as well as a generous benefits package that includes contribution to health insurance, employer-matched 401(k), an employer-sponsored life insurance policy, and paid time off. Responsibilities of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal at Z Family Law include: Cataloging and organizing information for cases, including assisting with managing metadata Drafting correspondence to clients as needed Organizing client meetings, mediations, and phone appointments for attorneys Assisting with managing attorney calendars Filing pleadings and other Court documents in Maryland and the District of Columbia Collaborating with attorneys to serve our clients, whether this is preparing for mediation or preparing a trial Working on cases within a team environment where collaborating with colleagues is the expectation, not the exception Qualifications A Legal Assistant must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; be friendly, empathetic, and organized; and be proficient with Microsoft Office 360 and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Additionally, they must possess the following skills: Ability to multitask Excellent oral and written communication skills People Skills/Customer Service Excellent Organizational Skills Ability to mange time effectively and ensure deadlines are met Ability to work in a team with other Legal Assistants and Attorneys A Paralegal must have a certificate from an accredited paralegal program along with experience in the areas of legal research and drafting.
