Law Firm Seeks Workers Compensation/Personal Injury Legal Assistant or Paralegal with Minimum 2 Years Experience

Salary: Commensurate based on experience

Location: Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Macomb, Quincy, Rushville, or Springfield, IL

Position Summary:
- Responsible for managing all aspects of workers compensation and/or personal injury cases
- Duties include opening and processing cases, creating and requesting supporting documents, maintaining attorney calendars, and overall file management
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct client intake interviews and receive intake calls
- Manage and organize client files
- Transcribe and compose routine letters and documents
- Handle filing, copying, scanning, and file set up
- Work with medical records and other documents
- Maintain attorney calendar and schedule appointments
- Prepare documentation for files
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings
- Act as a liaison between clients and attorney
- Prepare discovery documents, legal pleadings, and correspondence
- Review and analyze medical records and other documents
- Assist attorney with trial preparation

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of prior workers compensation and/or personal injury experience
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and responsible attitude
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Knowledge of legal management software is a plus

Additional Information:
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with one hour for lunch
- Must be able to work from one of the listed office locations in IL
