Summary:

Parker Poe, a well-respected law firm in Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking a Legal Professional Assistant (LPA) with at least five years of experience in a law firm or legal department to support their litigation practice group. The LPA will work a regular schedule of hours per week with occasional overtime required. The primary responsibilities of the LPA include working on legal documents, managing case files, and providing administrative support to attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronic filing, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

- Docket case deadlines and file legal documents using electronic filing systems
- Manage case files and documents
- Coordinate activities with multiple attorneys and clients
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and travel, maintaining calendars, and managing contact information

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a legal secretary or administrative assistant in a law firm or legal department
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience supporting a litigation practice group
- Proficiency in federal Electronic Filing and document management systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with dictation and legal time and billing systems
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Team player willing to assist others during peak times
