Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships
- Draft correspondence and legal documents
- Prepare inventories, accountings, and other probate documents
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, insurance companies, financial institutions, public officials, and court administrators
- Review tax strategies and prepare various tax returns
- Gather information and stay updated on administrative changes
- Adhere to NC State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct
- Work under the supervision of an attorney
- Ensure quality service to clients

We are currently seeking an experienced Estate Administration Paralegal to join our New Bern office. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of attorneys and staff, providing high-quality legal services to our clients.

As an Estate Administration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships. This includes drafting correspondence and legal documents, preparing inventories, accountings, and other probate documents, and communicating with clients, beneficiaries, insurance companies, financial institutions, public officials, and court administrators. You will also be responsible for reviewing tax strategies and preparing various tax returns, as well as staying updated on administrative changes.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong work ethic and exceptional time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You must also possess excellent client communication and service skills, as well as be proficient in MS Office Suite and general online research. Meticulous attention to detail and strong proofreading skills are a must, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with team members. It is also important to have strong accounting skills and a NC Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain one.

To be considered for this position, candidates should have five to seven years of paralegal experience, preferably in Estate Administration. An Associate's Degree from a Paralegal Technology Program or a Bachelor's Degree may be beneficial, but not required.
