Litigation Paralegal Coordinator The candidate will include both legal and documentary research, investigation, general case management, and some travel to meet with clients and witnesses in the Southeast. Assignments may include preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials; research on recent criminal justice issues or cases; drafting, editing, proofreading, and filing a variety of legal correspondence, briefs, motions, and pleadings; organization and maintenance of evidentiary materials; corresponding with incarcerated clients and their families. Work will include assisting in coordinating larger pro bono projects such as a new SPB legal advice clinic - . managing sign-up and scheduling, client-attorney matching, and soliciting status updates; working with the Director to develop reports on pro bono work both internally and for external reporting. Additionally, work may include drafting and/or proofreading content on the firm's pro bono work for social media and the firm's website. Should have a Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal. Should preferably have 2+ years of Paralegal experience and/or Administrative experience. Investigative, paralegal, or similar experience is strongly desired. Administrative experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated interest in criminal justice and criminal justice reform is a plus. A driver's license is preferred. The ability to bluebook and cite check are highly encouraged, as well as familiarity working with Lexis, Westlaw, and Pacer. Familiarity or prior experience in a Pro Bono/Criminal Justice environment preferred. General knowledge of rules and procedures in Federal and State Courts. Superior technological and computer capabilities (specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel). Must have illustrated excellent communication, proofreading, grammar, and organizational skills. The ability to complete assigned tasks with attention to detail; works well with teams, is able to manage multiple demanding tasks simultaneously and under pressure; meets deadlines; is a self-starter who takes initiative.
