Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney on behalf of a multi-state law firm based in Golden Valley, MN. The successful candidate will handle various aspects of litigation, primarily focusing on creditors’ rights and collections. This role offers a dynamic work environment with no billable hours, no evenings, and no weekends. The firm values integrity, results, and doing right by its clients and employees.

Duties:

  • Provide thorough legal assessments and advocacy during the legal collection process, both in and out of court.
  • Prepare and sign pleadings for all phases of litigation, including handling court appearances and first-chairing trials.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, parties, and court staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Implement collection strategies, including garnishments, depositions, and repossessions.
  • Guide and train administrative staff, and perform legal research as needed.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Manage cases through the litigation lifecycle, including traveling to various courts in Minnesota.
  • Attend continuing education seminars and remain informed of changes in federal, state, and local laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-7 years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in creditors’ rights and collections.
  • Active membership in the Minnesota State Bar.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

  • Excellent analytical, time management, and communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and collaborate with others.
  • Superior judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 (compensation determined by experience, education, and skills).
