Department: Legal Support

Description:

- Provide legal support services for multiple states, enterprise-wide functions, and complex litigation
- Prepare, analyze, and evaluate legal documents such as contracts, legal memoranda, objections to subpoenas, regulatory filings, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and analysis, and recommend appropriate course of action
- Perform fact checking, gather documents, and respond to subpoenas and record requests
- Coordinate investigative and discovery activities and manage e-Discovery processes
- Monitor state and federal legislation and develop/implement recommendations for changes in regulations and laws
- Assist with regulatory governance and compliance issues
- Attend and represent company at legal proceedings, arbitration hearings, and subsidiary company board meetings
- Participate in projects and negotiations with business and staff
- Enter information into appropriate databases or document management systems

Minimum Requirements:

- Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of legal or related experience

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

- Experience creating multi-state surveys of laws and regulations
- Familiarity with state and federal insurance and healthcare-related laws and regulations
- Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Experience working with provider contracts
