Job Title: Litigation Paralegal Location: Des Moines, IA Job Type: Full-Time Job Responsibilities: - Possess critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills. - Meet internal and client-driven deadlines, as well as court-ordered deadlines. - Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, discovery documents, case analysis memoranda, and more. - Proofread and edit documents for accuracy, comprehension, and proper grammar and punctuation. - Obtain and review case-relevant documents from clients. - Analyze case records and prepare case analysis. - Assist attorneys with evidence preparation and organization. - Identify and coordinate with experts for depositions. - Conduct witness interviews. - Manage case documents and maintain confidentiality. - Conduct legal research and investigations using various resources. - Process billing, time entry, and expense reimbursements. - Assist with trial preparation, including attendance at trial if necessary. - Provide exceptional client service. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Associate's degree with a Paralegal Certification. - Minimum of two years of experience in general litigation. - Experience with litigation and document management software preferred. Minimum Knowledge/Skills Required: - Professional communication skills with both external clients and internal customers. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe. - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. - Competency in operating office equipment. - Basic math skills. - Knowledge of e-discovery review platforms, such as Relativity. Physical Demands: - Repetitive hand motion. - Close vision. - Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. - Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
