Law Firm is Seeking Experienced Personal Injury Paralegal Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. As a Personal Injury Paralegal you will work closely with our talented attorneys providing support for our cases from presuit through trial. Responsibilities: • Presuit: o Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person. o Order medical records from providers and communicate with clients and providers during the course of treatment. o Obtain documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions o Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances o Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate a deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers o Work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files o Maintain organized case files. o Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble support for submission to carriers o Interact with attorneys and present case synopsis when required o Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney • Litigation: o Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda o E-file all court documents in state and federal court o Communications with clients, court, counsel, and others. o Conduct legal research and factual investigation o Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses o Draft and server summons o Coordinate and summarize depositions o Prepare trial binders and exhibits o Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court o Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics) o Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes o Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices o Aid attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests o Gather relevant information from a variety of sources o Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties o Witness preparation o Assisting with case settlements o Other tasks as requested by the attorney Qualifications: • Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred) • 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience (preferred) • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred) • Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred) • Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and type no less than 35 wpm Benefits Law Firm is a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful.
