National Law Firm is seeking to hire four (4) paralegals to join their St. Petersburg office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of insurance defense experience, although training is available for the right candidates.

Job Responsibilities:

Summarizing records and court files
Scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses and other special functions
Researching sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and public records
Drafting, preparing and performing limited reviews of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, discovery materials, appeals and contracts
Assisting in trial preparation and discovery practices such as gathering and organizing exhibits, trial data, documents, and other materials in response to subpoenas, discovery requests, interrogatories, motions for summary judgments, etc.
Serving as a limited liaison between counsel, clients, experts, witnesses, third parties, and other outside contacts
Maintaining attorney’s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions

Preferred Skills:

Medicare Secondary Payer and Federal Court experience preferred and/or First party property insurance defense litigation.

The ideal candidate will be an assertive, reliable, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, team player who is eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions or suggest improvements. Critical to success is attention to detail, follow-through, accuracy, communication, and organization. Excellent grammar and proofreading skills are required. The ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail is mandatory.
