Job Summary:
The **Members Only**'s Office is seeking dedicated Assistant Attorney Generals to provide complex legal work for the state. This includes representing the state's interest and providing legal advice and counsel. The AGO has jurisdiction over a wide range of cases, including consumer fraud, white collar crime, and civil rights laws. Attorneys are needed for the Child and Family Protection Division in locations throughout the state.
Job Duties:
• Provide legal representation and advice in complex cases in state and federal court
• Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and memoranda
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and legal research for cases
• Respond to inquiries from law enforcement and the public
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• Knowledge of applicable laws and court rules
• Familiarity with legal techniques and document preparation
• Understanding of litigation decision-making factors and ethical standards
• Strong communication skills for case presentation, legal writing, and negotiations
• Ability to identify issues, analyze evidence, and plan and organize complex investigations and cases
• Collaborative and able to work with various agencies and staff
• Good judgment in making strategic decisions and applying ethical rules
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases and utilize subordinate staff effectively

Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Valid Arizona Driver's License and consent to periodic driving record checks
• Active Arizona State Bar license
• Writing sample demonstrating ability to analyze legal issues and advocate for a position
• Fingerprinting and criminal background check
