Advent, LLP is Seeking an Intellectual Property Agent

Advent, LLP is an innovative and technology law firm that is looking for an Intellectual Property Agent who is curious and entrepreneurial to join their team. The qualified candidate should have a strong background in various aspects of intellectual property, be able to work in Advent’s offices in Omaha, Nebraska, have strong oral and written communication skills, and have at least three (3) years of experience in intellectual property.

This role offers a competitive base salary that will be commensurate with experience and background. Additionally, bonuses are paid monthly based on production and are calculated using a transparent and objective rules-based process.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct IP searching, IP analysis, and IP clearance analysis;

Monitor legal developments in areas of intellectual property law;

Draft and prosecute patent applications;

Review and analyze patent and trademark portfolios;

Stay current on changes in the patent and trademark laws;

Assist with client education and support related to intellectual property;

Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters;

Assist in the preparation of licensing agreements.

Qualifications:

Demonstrable connection and desire to live in the upper Midwest;

Ability to work in Advent’s offices in Omaha, Nebraska;

Strong oral and written communication skills;

At least three (3) years of experience in intellectual property;

Experience with IP searching, IP analysis, and IP clearance analysis;

Curiosity to learn technologies outside of field of study.
