Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Washington, DC, seeks a skilled and compassionate Senior Attorney to join its dedicated team. The firm specializes in personal injury law and focuses on delivering exceptional client outcomes by advocating for the wrongfully injured. As part of the legal team, you will leverage your expertise to maximize recovery for clients while collaborating in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Client Interaction & Intake:

    • Establish trust and demonstrate compassion during initial consultations.
    • Gather key information regarding liability, damages, and coverage for each case.
    • Create a comprehensive action plan to effectively manage cases.
  • Investigation & Case Preparation:

    • Direct investigations to build strong, trial-ready cases.
    • Assess insurance coverage, gather critical evidence, and ensure case readiness for litigation.
    • Develop trial strategies and provide ongoing legal guidance to clients.
  • Negotiation & Settlement:

    • Actively negotiate with adjusters to reach favorable settlements, using strategic approaches.
    • When necessary, initiate lawsuits and guide clients through the legal process.
    • Prepare cases for trial, including pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Litigation:

    • Prepare and execute trial strategies, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth case progression.
    • Monitor case status and adjust strategy as necessary to meet client needs.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and legal staff.
    • Engage in team discussions to drive case resolution and achieve optimal results.
    • Review and sign legal correspondence prepared by team members.

Requirements:

  • Strong trial preparation skills and experience in negotiating settlements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build client trust and confidence.
  • Active Bar license in Washington, DC (or the ability to obtain one).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Washington, DC (or eligible to practice).

Skills:

  • Expertise in personal injury law and litigation.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining attention to detail and client satisfaction.
