Business Intake & Conflicts Specialist (Laterals) - Full Time Position Summary: Cooley, a leading law firm, is seeking a Business Intake & Conflicts Specialist (Laterals) to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with ethical obligations and risk management policies, as well as assisting with onboarding new business, including clients, matters, timekeepers, and employees. Responsibilities: • Review and process incoming conflict check submissions for lateral attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Maintain lateral candidate folders and update spreadsheets • Communicate with recruiting, HR, and attorneys regarding lateral intake • Monitor the BIC inbox and respond to inquiries regarding new business requests • Process intake review queues and ensure accurate information for upload • Assist with review and filing of waiver and engagement letters • Provide training to new hires on systems and tasks • Conduct research projects related to conflicts, operations, and corporate affiliations • Assist with ethical screen database clean up • Other duties as assigned or required Requirements: • 3+ years of experience in a similar role (. BIC department, legal secretary, paralegal, or executive assistant) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications • Availability for overtime as needed • Strong computer skills Preferred: • Bachelor's degree • Paralegal certificate • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment Competencies: • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Punctual and reliable Salary Information: The expected hourly pay range for this position is - , depending on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
