Position Summary:

The law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to join their expanding practice. This full-time position will primarily support offices on the West Coast and requires a candidate with strong secretarial and administrative skills. The Floating Practice Assistant will have the opportunity to work with a variety of attorneys and paralegals, providing backup support and assisting with various firm-wide projects. This position will be primarily remote, but the candidate must reside in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.

Responsibilities:

• Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys and paralegals in various offices.
• Communicate with Office Administrators and other Practice Assistants to facilitate smooth transitions and ensure efficient support for offices.
• Proactively seek opportunities to assist offices in need of support.
• Assist with new office openings and large-scale attorney onboarding.
• Train incoming and newly hired staff on firm systems, procedures, and resources.
• Create and maintain master spreadsheet of new matter openings for incoming attorneys.
• Organize and maintain client files.
• Assist with administrative tasks for new office locations.
• Participate in firm-wide projects and initiatives, providing valuable feedback on new processes.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as a litigation practice assistant or legal secretary.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and local rules, including experience with California processes and filings.
• Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, document management, and e-filing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills, including filing, calendaring, and proofreading.

Salary Information:

• The expected salary range for this position is between $48,000 and $87,000 in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
• In accordance with New York City’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this position is between $72,900 and $95,100.
• In accordance with California’s amended labor code, the expected salary range for this position is between $50,700 and $100,000.
• In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $49,000 and $87,000.
• Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors.
