Salary Information The salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience and education. Job Title Immigration Paralegal Experience Information Minimum of 3-5 years paralegal experience. Position Summary The Immigration Paralegal at the law firm in Hartford is responsible for providing valuable legal support to Immigration Attorneys. This includes drafting and finalizing immigration and non-immigrant petitions for filing with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and Department of Labor, managing caseloads, tracking case statuses, and interacting with outside vendors. The Paralegal is also expected to maintain a billable hour goal of 1,450 hours per year. Duties/Responsibilities - Draft and finalize immigration/non-immigrant petitions for filing - Manage caseloads from intake through processing and filing - Track the status of individual cases - Interact with outside vendors for necessary services - Draft letters and affidavits supporting applications and petitions - Obtain and organize documents supporting applications and petitions - Review extension reminders and draft emails for attorneys - Review waiting files and draft emails for necessary follow-up - Manage iManage documents for assigned cases Position Competencies - Strong oral and written communication skills - Effective planning and time management abilities - Technical expertise in Microsoft Office, immigration software, research applications, and internet usage - Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks - Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively Experience A minimum of 3-5 years paralegal experience is required for this position. Education An associate’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is required, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree.
