# Senior Labor Relations Specialist

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Labor Relations Specialist to join their Labor Relations Department. This role will provide the Port Authority’s various departments with proper interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and labor-related issues, assist in the negotiations of successor collective bargaining agreements, review and evaluate incoming grievances and discipline cases, provide analysis on emerging labor issues, and more.

## Qualifications

Candidates for this position must present the following qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations or related field (Juris Doctor or Master’s or Advanced Degree desirable)
* Minimum 3 years experience in collective bargaining and working in a unionized environment
* Ability to understand/interpret basic union contracts

## Desired Qualifications

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

* Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough and factual investigations and present findings in a clear, concise and persuasive format
* Knowledge of general collective bargaining terminology/practices and PA policies/procedures
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to provide reports in a clear and concise format
* Excellent analytical and complex problem solving to make quality decisions
* Excellent written, oral communication and listening skills
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize projects in time-sensitive situations paying keen attention to detail
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with unionized and non-unionized staff at all levels and with external contacts
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment

## Salary Information

Salary for this role is commensurate with experience.
