Title: Paralegal - General Liability

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Experience: 3+ years as a litigation paralegal

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote work possible)

Responsibilities:

Drafting legal memoranda including pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, correspondence and discovery motions
Organize, chart and process incoming records and invoices
Follow up for outstanding records via telephone, e-mail and regular mail
Prepare answers and correspondence
Manage a large caseload and working with multiple attorneys
Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure
Conduct case law research using Lexis and public access websites to assist with strategies for defense
Assist with preparing attorneys for mediation and trial.
Retrieve documents from and save to document management system

Requirements:

Experience with Texas courts including e-filing
Billing experience
Experience in drafting legal documents
Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications especially Outlook and Word
Must have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Familiarity with the Aderant Total Office (ATO)
Familiarity with Lexis Advance

Responsibilities:

As a Paralegal for Chartwell Law, you will be responsible for drafting legal documents, organizing and processing records and invoices, and conducting case law research. You will also assist with preparing attorneys for mediation and trial, manage a large caseload, and work with multiple attorneys. Other duties may include reviewing documents for relevance and privilege and retrieving and saving documents in the document management system.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have at least 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a strong understanding of Texas courts and e-filing. Billing experience and proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word, are also required. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, scheduling, and calendaring skills, as well as the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Familiarity with Aderant Total Office (ATO) and Lexis Advance is a plus.
