Job Responsibilities

As an IP&T Patent Agent at Dentons, you will be responsible for:

Invention harvesting
Meeting with clients to discuss invention disclosures, patent strategy and ongoing prosecution matters
Evaluating technology
Preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications
Assisting with opinion writing
Client counseling
Litigation support
Providing technical support for the practice

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (and preferably an advanced degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of experience of independently preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computing and/or electrical arts
Must be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
Previous law firm or in-house experience required
Personal skills/attributes: Has a true love of and passion for technology, is conscientious with proven attention to detail and strategic patenting, possesses strong analytical skills and an ability to convey technical ideas clearly, concisely, persuasively and effectively, embraces client service, teamwork, self-improvement, takes ownership of personal work product and works effectively with others, has excellent writing skills, technical and otherwise

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
