## Defense Litigation - Chemical Exposure Associate

Harris Beach is a leading law firm with offices across New York state, as well as in New Haven, Connecticut and Newark, New Jersey. The firm is looking for an associate to add to their national Mass Torts and Industry-Wide Litigation team to support their growing business. This role will involve working with colleagues in all of Harris Beach's offices.

### Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

* 3+ years of chemical exposure/toxic tort case experience
* New York and New Jersey admission (or ability to waive into NJ)
* Meaningful state and federal experience
* Proven, superior writing skills
* Excellent oral communication skills
* Strong deposition, motion, pleading, and e-discovery experience
* Highly organized, detail-oriented and possess excellent research skills
* Maintains high standards of performance
* Quick learner who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment
* Professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude
* Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization
* Well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills
* Military experience welcome

### Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

* Researching various issues and collaborating with senior attorneys about strategies
* Taking and defending depositions on a regular basis
* Managing discovery and e-discovery as needed
* Drafting reports to clients, memoranda, pleadings, motions, etc., including significant and complex motion practice
* Participating in trial/ADR planning and preparation
* Representing clients at courtroom appearances

### Location
Hybrid remote opportunity in Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Rochester, or Syracuse NY offices

### Salary
Salary information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position and geographic locations. The minimum hiring rate is $118, and the maximum hiring rate is $145,. This is a full-time position.
