Law Firm is looking for an experienced Paralegal to join its Banking Practice located in its Troy office on a full-time basis.

The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to provide a variety of legal services, including:

• Preparing UCC financing statements and amendments and tracking filing status.
• Ordering and reviewing corporate due diligence (including UCC lien searches, entity formation documents, certificates of good standing, and litigation and bankruptcy searches).
• Drafting routine loan documents including maintenance of closing checklists.
• Preparing signature page packets, coordinating the execution of documents, and preparing for and facilitating completion of loan closing requirements.
• Preparing and coordinating distribution of loan documentation closing binders.
• Assisting with real estate matters, such as ordering/reviewing title work and surveys, preparing summaries to analyze results, performing real estate due diligence searches, reviewing title commitments/policies and recorded exceptions to title.
• Assisting with post-closing matters, including recording real estate documents and review of closing binders.
• Conducting some legal research, including review of city, county and state regulations pertaining to real estate transactions.
• Assisting banking attorneys with other documentation and diligence tasks, as needed.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalent. A paralegal certificate from a qualified institution is preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree in a related field will also be considered.
• At least three years of experience in a related field, particularly banking and/or real estate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical ability.
• The career-minded individual should have the ability to follow process and have strong organization skills.
• The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
• The candidate should be a problem solver, willing to work and think with a degree of independence, handle confidential information with discretion, and accept responsibility for producing work that is consistently complete, timely, effective and accurate.
