Look no further! Hawkins Parnell & Young, a national litigation powerhouse, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will support 3 to 4 attorneys with document formatting, e-filing, calendar management, and other legal administrative duties. As an Experienced Legal Secretary, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client roster, from prominent individuals to large corporations, in high-risk litigation and business disputes nationwide. Responsibilities: - Draft, transcribe, proofread, edit, and file court documents and related correspondence, memorandum, pleadings, and related documents - E-file and paper file documents with local, state, federal, and appellate courts - Manage incoming and outgoing mail for attorneys - Maintain team and court calendars and keep attorneys aware of scheduled events and approaching deadlines - Schedule meetings, conference calls, and assist with travel arrangements - Communicate professionally with clients, court officials, and others - Schedule depositions and assist with trial preparation - Maintain files and assist with billing - Coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports - Assist fellow workers and/or other timekeepers as needed and requested Qualifications: - High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred - 3+ years of legal litigation secretarial experience, preferably in a large law firm - Solid experience in MS Office and document formatting and drafting - Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail - Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Proficiency in e-filing and paper filing with local, state, federal, and appellate courts - Familiarity with practice areas such as Appellate, Bad Faith and Coverage, Banking & Finance, Business/Commercial, Construction, Employee Benefits & ERISA, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Labor & Employment, Legal Malpractice, Long Term Care & Assisted Living, Medical Malpractice, Municipal Liability, Premises Liability, Product Liability, Professional Negligence, Toxic Tort and Environmental, and Transportation Benefits: - Competitive salary of $50k-$60k/year - Robust benefits package including paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision - Profit sharing and 401(k) program - Opportunities for growth and development within the firm Join our team at Hawkins Parnell & Young and become a part of a dynamic and successful law firm.
