Are you a highly skilled attorney with a passion for politics and the law? Ballard Spahr LLP, a nationally-recognized law firm with 15 offices across the ., is seeking a Political Law Associate with three to five years of experience to join our Government Affairs and Public Policy practice group in Washington, . This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse clientele and collaborate with a team of partners, associates, and compliance professionals to provide legal counsel on matters related to political and election law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic counsel and compliance advice to clients on political and election law matters, with a focus on lobbying and public policy, campaign finance, government ethics, and non-profit law
• Have knowledge of the Federal Election Campaign Act, Lobbying Disclosure Act, Foreign Agents Registration Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Ethics in Government Act, and state and federal pay-to-play laws
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide legal counsel to corporations, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, political committees, candidates, and officeholders
• Possess strong written and oral communication skills, organization, and teamwork abilities
• Maintain an active bar license in Washington, .

Experience and Qualifications:

• Three to five years of experience in political and election law
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Active bar license in Washington, .
