We are seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate with at least one year of legal practice experience, preferably at a law firm, for our life sciences practice in either our Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, or Washington . office.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with patent prosecution matters in the life sciences field
- Draft patent applications and respond to office actions
- Prepare and file applications with the USPTO
- Prepare and file applications with foreign patent offices
- Research and analyze technical and legal issues
- Conduct patent due diligence
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients

Qualifications:
- Member of the California, Washington State, New York, or Washington . Bar
- PhD (or MD) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology, oncology or a related field
- Post-doctoral experience is desirable but not required
- USPTO registration number
- Superior academic credentials
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

Benefits and Compensation:
Fenwick & West offers a comprehensive benefits package and discretionary bonus program to eligible employees. The anticipated range for this position is: $225,000 - $370,000.
