DLA Piper is seeking an Associate to join its Franchise & Distribution practice in our Philadelphia, Short Hills, Seattle, Chicago or San Diego office. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the top Franchise & Distribution practice (as ranked by Chambers USA) on a broad range of matters for clients in a wide variety of industries.

Job Description Summary:

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of Franchise and litigation experience (preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm), a strong academic backgrounds from a well-recognized and respected law school, superior research and writing skills, case management experience, and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Leading firm offering a very deep bench of experienced attorneys capable of handling the full gamut of complex franchising litigation and transactional matters. Represents a wide variety of clients ranging from private equity firms to start-up franchisors to some of the largest franchisors in the USA. Has a strong international presence complementing work with foreign companies franchising into the US. Offers unmatched expertise in termination-related disputes and litigation involving allegations of violations of state disclosure and relationship laws.

Requirements:


Minimum 3 years of franchise litigation experience in a law firm environment
State Bar admission in the state you would be practicing or eligible for admission via waiver

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment: Hybrid with some in-office expectations or remote (as appropriate). Some travel required.

Salary:

In accordance with California and Washington's Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position, if hired to work in California or Washington is $260,000-$365,000 per year. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience and overall qualifications.
